Even though many of my recordings through the years have been worshipful, this time I sought out songs to glorify God and commune with him. It’s a combination of solo and congregational worship songs. View Details
Having been a “musicianary” for many years, I have had the privilege of fellow-shipping with Christians from many nations. Each people group offers tribute to God in their own unique way. The instruments they use range from dijereedoos, log drums and wooden flutes to accordions, violins, and bagpipes. This recording celebrates a few of the musical styles from around the world that become expressions of worship and testimony.
These songs are given in love and appreciation to those soldiers of the cause who have been willing to leave the ones they love to reach others with God’s love. And to my own friends and family whom I’ve had to say goodbye to many times. I’m so looking forward to seeing you all in the “Land of No Goodbyes.” Until then…”I Have You in My Heart.”
Those who know me, have had a little taste of the “New Mexico country girl” in me (and some of you have even tasted my Mexican food). I hope the country music on this recording brings a smile to your face and gets you tappin’ your foot. That’s all part of my roots in America: but even more, I hope you hear the spirit of the music that goes even deeper than my country roots. As the lyrics in the song “Wind Across Australia” say…”If your heart can hear it, you’ll never be the same.” Going from Country to Country to me is sharing our cultures but also sharing the Love of Jesus. I think this is how “down home livin” was meant to be.
Remembering our Lives… Remembering Jesus’ Life…
“Life Pages – Love of the Ages” was the title I chose for this recording as I sought to bring out the truth of two realities… The first is that “Every Life” is a story. Some will end in Glory… forever in God’s presence… and some will feel like they never belonged anywhere. We all have good times and hard times. Some experience peace, no matter what, and others grow into a sad bitterness. The second truth is the eternal truth that God’s love has been present throughout the ages. He’s always been there for any of us who will call on Him.
To some of you, this music will bring back some precious memories of how God was working in your life in those “Jesus Movement” days. Others may be hearing these songs for the first time. Listen with your heart to God’s truth… The music was from a different era…. But God’s Truth never changes.
Of all the recordings I’ve done over my some forty years of music ministry, Sweet Communion is the one that has been most personal to me. Most of the songs were written at a difficult but very deep time in my life. I was feeling the sorrow and loss of four people I was close to dying very close to each other. Writing these songs helped me express both my sorrow and my faith in God.
